Whenverbs are used as both stative and dynamic, many times they have different meanings. 'Have' is a little more idiomatic in the way it is used in the continuous tense. "We are having a class" is not often used (at least in NY) but it means class is in session. "We have a class" is not talking about now necessarily.
PresentPerfect Continuous Tense. To start, let's review some examples of the different forms of the present tense: Simple present: I like dogs. Present perfect: I've seen the new movie. Present continuous or present progressive: She is eating right now. Present perfect continuous: He has been practicing every day.

Withthe present tense, we understand the time to be present, current, now. "I walk to class today," could also be understood as a scheduled activity. 50Sentences of Present Continuous Tense. Present Continuous Tense describes on-going actions at the time of speaking and happening right now, stressing that the doer is in the middle of the activity and hasn't finished yet (the action is incomplete). For example, I am eating a burger.
